The Professional Association of Disease Control Officers – Ghana (PADCOG) is the national professional body representing Disease Control Officers and allied public health practitioners committed to disease prevention, surveillance, outbreak investigation, epidemic preparedness, emergency response coordination, and health promotion across Ghana.

PADCOG serves as a unified platform for strengthening professionalism, technical capacity, collaboration, advocacy, innovation, and evidence-based public health practice within Ghana’s health system.

The Role of Disease Control Officers in Ghana’s Health System

Disease Control Officers play a vital role within Ghana’s public health system by supporting disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, epidemic preparedness, emergency response coordination, health education, risk communication, vaccination campaigns, and implementation of disease prevention strategies.
